As part of their final session on the Career Ready mentoring programme, Year 13 students at Woolwich Polytechnic Sixth Form had the chance to step into the corporate world.

The cohort visited the City of London offices of SMBC Bank, where they took part in a growth mindset workshop and enjoyed a guided workplace tour. Students explored the different departments within the bank and learnt about the wide range of careers and career paths available.

During the workshop, they reflected on how to develop a growth mindset and considered the limiting factors of a fixed mindset. The tour gave them a first-hand look at how professionals work together in a corporate setting, helping them connect their learning to real-world opportunities.

It was an inspiring and memorable experience for the students – one they will not soon forget.
