  • Meet Jasper - New YouTube Video!

    Published 22/02/23

Meet Jasper! - a former Student at Woolwich Polytechnic Sixth Form.

Jasper talks about the extra support he received at Sixth Form particularly how our wonderful receptionist Mrs Hawgood has helped him, teachers who have encouraged him to perform better at school and advice he would give to new Sixth Form Students.

We have a long and proud history at Woolwich Polytechnic, having educated local students for over 100 years: we have been a technical school; reported as the most improved boy’s school in the country; a community school and now an academy; a single school and now the founding ‘brother’ to our sister school, Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls. We have year-on-year exam results at A Level and BTEC that make us, our students and their families rightly proud. Yet our relentless focus is upon the futures of our current students as we counsel them through their educational careers to be the most successful version of themselves. This is evident in year-on-year increases in students accessing courses at Oxbridge, in medicine and at prestigious Russell Group universities, as well as high-end apprenticeships in finance.

  • Cost of living crisis support booklet

    Published 27/01/23

'Inflation is soaring, hitting hardworking people across Erith and Thamesmead. Food, fuel, and household bills are up, but wages and benefits are not keeping apace.

People are worried about how they will pay their bills, especially with the astronomical prices energy companies are expected to charge.

I know people are scared about getting through the winter. While there’s lots of advice out there, it’s not always in one place.

So, I have tried to gather information about all the agencies, organisations and charities that are out there and can provide you with help, information and support for managing your bills. I hope the information in this booklet will be useful to you, and as ever, please do get in contact if I can be of help.'
